This research aimed to reflect about the experiences of teaching in higher education, lived through the intervention of the knowledge of dance in a discipline of the teaching course in Physical Education of a public University of the State of Minas Gerais, from 2013 to 2015. Four classes of fourth quarter participated in the survey, totaling 173 students of both sexes. The initial planning of the intervention occurred in July 2013, and was restructured in subsequent semesters. We have adopted the approach of action research in conjunction with the contributions of cultural studies.
