O ensino da cultura indígena na rede pública do estado de São Paulo

This intervention project aims to analyze the teaching of indigenous culture in the network of the State of São Paulo. Thus, several actions were carried out with the classes of the 2nd year of High School of a Public School of Integral Education in the city of São Vicente / SP. The project came from the analysis of the textbook “Modern Times, Times of Sociology”, written by Helena Bomeny, of the work “Race and history”, written by Lévi-Strauss and from the book “The Brazilian People: The Formation and Meaning of Brazil”, by anthropologist Darcy Ribeiro. From the data survey it was realized how fundamental is the teaching of indigenous history and culture in the classroom, because we see reproduced stereotypical representations about indigenous peoples. The objective of the intervention project is to make students able to understand indigenous history and culture from an anthropological and sociological point of view.O presente projeto de intervenção tem como finalidade analisar o ensino da cultura indígena na rede do Estado de São Paulo. Assim, foram realizadas diversas ações com as turmas do 2ºano do Ensino Médio de uma Escola Pública de Ensino Integral do município de São Vicente/SP. O projeto partiu da análise do livro didático “Tempos Modernos, Tempos de Sociologia”, escrito por Helena Bomeny, da obra “Raça e história”, escrito por Lévi-Strauss e do livro “O povo brasileiro: a formação e o sentido do Brasil”, do antropólogo Darcy Ribeiro. A partir do levantamento dos dados, percebeu-se o quanto é fundamental o ensino da história e da cultura indígenas em sala de aula, pois vemos reproduzirem-se representações preconceituosas acerca dos povos indígenas. O objetivo do projeto de intervenção é tornar os alunos aptos a compreenderem a história e a cultura indígenas de um ponto de vista antropológico e sociológico
