The aim of this research is to investigate the Friedrich D. E. Schleiermacher’s philosophy of religion. It seeks to present his general theory about religion focussing on two basics concepts: feeling and immediate self-consciousness. In order to accomplish this task, keeping in mind the sheer size of the Schleiermacher’s work, two of his major writings are presented as crucial theoretical sources: Über die Religion (1799) and Glaubenslehre (1830).
