Systemic arterial hypertension (SAH) is an important public health problem in Brazil and in the world. It is a chronic clinical condition currently characterized in our country as high and persistent pressure levels, equal to or greater than 140 x 90 mmHg. Systemic arterial hypertension also acts as a risk factor for other diseases such as acute myocardial infarction and stroke. Some risk factors contribute to the emergence of systemic arterial hypertension, including heredity, obesity, sedentary lifestyle and old age. Despite the creation of programs and public policies aimed at the prevention, control and rehabilitation of complications arising from the hypertensive picture, the non adherence to medical care reaches alarming level...
