Revelação e encarnação: a filosofia do cristianismo segundo Michel Henry

This research intends to investigate how the flesh may be a revelation and how revelation becomes realized as flesh in Henry’s phenomenological proposal. There exists a relation between the phenomenology of the flesh and Christian incarnation. The flesh is not only the beginning of the constitution of the objective body, there is also an invisible substance in it. The Christian view of incarnation differs from the Greek and Jewish understanding. The incarnation of the word signifies its coming in living flesh, flesh which has its reality and living properties. The proposition of John “And the Word became flesh” (Job 1,14) is incompatible with Greek philosophy. Western philosophy, from the time if its Greek origins, recognises the visible world as the only form of manifestation, ignoring the invisible interior of life and its originative form of revelation. The phenomenology of life permits an approach to the question of the flesh and the body using new phenomenological presuppositions.Esta pesquisa pretende investigar como a carne pode ser revelação e como a revelação se realiza como carne na proposta fenomenológica de Henry. Há uma relação entre a fenomenologia da carne e a encarnação cristã. A carne não é somente o princípio da constituição do corpo objetivo, há nela sua substância invisível. A encarnação em sentido cristão difere tanto da compreensão grega quanto da judaica. A encarnação do verbo significa sua vinda em uma carne viva, carne que tem sua realidade e suas propriedades da vida. A proposição de João “E o Verbo se fez carne” (Jó 1, 14) é incompatível com a filosofia grega. A filosofia ocidental, desde suas origens gregas, reconhece como único modo de manifestação o mundo visível, ignorando a interioridade invisível da vida e seu modo originário de revelação.
