This work presents the obtained results and experiences to solve the problem of Transmission Expansion Planning (TEP). The work includes in TEP the uncertainties related to wind power generation and the active power demand. Additionally, the safety criterion "N-1" and the reactive power support are considered in the mixed integer nonlinear formulation that is the main characteristic of the TEP problem. For that, an Efficient Hybrid Algorithm (EHA) was developed, which consists of a Search Space Reducer (SER) and a Modified Bioinspired Algorithm based on in bat behavior (MBA).
