O feminino no Tambor de Mina de São Luís do Maranhão

This work deals with the relationship between religion, gender and power in Afro-Brazilian religions, taking as a study object the Female in the Drum Mine of São Luís do Maranhão. African side of Maranhão founded in the mid-nineteenth century cult of African and non-African entities. The importance of the woman in the Drum of Mine is analyzed in the same one. Since it is a female-dominated religion, the Mine in the course of history has been managed by dominant matriarchs, who have managed to resist until the present time. The position of women and women's entities in the Maranhão Mine Drum is also highlighted, investigating some rituals performed in the terreiros of São Luís, trying to understand the role of women in the described religion. The religious restrictions imposed on women due to the menstrual cycle are investigated, and in this situation, when women are menstruating, they are unable to exercise their political, religious and administrative functions in the menstrual period, making menstruation an important means of Female interdictEste trabalho versa sobre a relação entre religião, gênero e poder nas religiões afro-brasileiras, tomando como objeto de estudo o Feminino no Tambor de Mina de São Luís do Maranhão. Vertente afro própria do Maranhão fundada em meados do século XIX de culto a entidades africanas e não africanas. Analisa-se no mesmo a importância da mulher no Tambor de Mina. Uma vez que é uma religião de domínio feminino, a Mina ao decorrer da história vem sendo gerenciada por matriarcas dominante, que conseguiram resistir até o tempo atual. Destaca-se ainda a posição da mulher e das entidades femininas no Tambor de Mina do Maranhão, investigando alguns rituais realizados nos terreiros de São Luís procurando compreender o papel da mulher na religião descrita. Investigam-se as restrições religiosas impostas as mulheres em função do ciclo menstrual, e nesta situação, quando as mulheres estão menstruadas, ficam impossibilitadas no período menstrual, de exercerem suas funções políticas, religiosas e administrativas na religião, tornando a menstruação um importante meio de interdito feminino
