Estudo sobre evasão estudantil na Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora entre os anos 2013 e 2017

In Brazil, the dropout rate in higher education institutions has been increasing over the years. To this increase, government programs are added to solve this problem. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze student evasion in the first year of higher education at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, identifying the profile of the student being evaded and verifying which reasons contribute to the probability of student avoidance of this institution between the period from 2013 to 2017. For this purpose, the data of the Higher Education Census (CES) applied in panel data were used. In addition to the descriptive statistics, we used the probit probability model. The results show that receiving support and / or participating in some research or extension project decreases the probability that the student will evade. It should be noted that student quotaters are also less likely to evade than those entering through wide competition.No Brasil, a taxa de evasão nas instituições de ensino superior vem crescendo ao longo dos anos. A esse aumento, somam-se programas governamentais a fim de solucionar esse problema. Diante disso, o objetivo deste estudo é analisar a evasão estudantil no primeiro ano de curso do ensino superior na Universidade Federal de Juiz de Fora, identificando o perfil do aluno evadido e verificando quais motivos contribuem para a probabilidade de evasão do estudante desta instituição entre o período de 2013 a 2017. Para tal foram utilizados os dados do Censo de Educação Superior (CES) aplicados em dados em painel. Além das estatísticas descritivas, utilizou-se do modelo de probabilidade probit. Os resultados obtidos mostram que receber apoio e/ou participar de algum projeto de pesquisa ou extensão diminui a probabilidade de o aluno evadir. Destaca-se que alunos cotistas também têm menor probabilidade de evadir do que aqueles que ingressam por ampla concorrência
