Social phobia is defined as clinically significant anxiety provoked by exposure to certain types of social or performance situations, often leading to avoidance behavior. The association between social phobia and alcoholism is well documented in recent literature, in this sense, the dissertation in question aimed to investigate the prevalence of social phobia among patients admitted to a hospital public partnership in the city of Juiz de Fora - MG.
