Among them, deoxynivalenol (DON) is the most prevalent trichothecene mycotoxin, which is produced by Fusarium species globally. Fumonisin B1 (FB1), mainly produced by Fusarium verticillioides and Fusarium proliferatum, is also abundant in agricultural commodities. Therefore, both humans and animals are often exposed to the toxic effects of multiple mycotoxins, resulting in subclinical symptoms in the gastrointestinal tract.
