An experimental procedure to predict the evolution of fluidisation level in a headbox is presented. By paper samples, produced with similar headbox, the tight connection between fluidisation and formation is confirmed. Therefore, the described experimental procedure provides a method for reasoned design and development of the headbox as well as a way to assist the operation and the control of a paper machine to achieve improved formation of paper
