ABSTRACTDrini and Krakal Beach are two beaches in the Gunungkidul area which are crowded with visitors. The high human activity, directly and indirectly will affect marine organisms in the region, one of them is macroalgae. The purpose of this study is to find out information on diversity and distribution patterns of macroalgae in the Drini and Krakal Coast waters. Data was collected on 15 -17 September 2019. The method used in sampling is the quadratic transect method using a 1x1 m grid plot. At each location 25 plots were taken and then the data were analyzed in the form of important value index, diversity index, similarity index, dominance index and distribution patterns.
