© 2015 Sense Publishers. All rights reserved. In this chapter, I first introduce the need for individuals to possess and develop career adaptability based on the new work paradigm. Within this new paradigm, I posit that stress may be prevalent due to the constant need for individuals to update skills and increase a personal competitive edge to remain employable. Next, I review briefly, the connection between career development and mental health and introduce stress coping as a construct that may help bridge the need to develop career adaptability in career clients.
