It is shown that the effects of exchange electron correlation, occurring in the photoionisation of atomic Mn 4s electrons due to the influence of a 3d 5 down arrow half-filled subshell, are non-equivalent depending upon the spin orientation of the electrons. As a result, the photoionisation cross section, calculated for the region of the 3p to 3d \u27giant\u27 autoionisation resonance, is alternative for spin-up and spin-down 4s electrons. Presented results are consistent with the available experimental data
