Les oxydes InGaO₃ (ZnO)m sont des composes homologues à structure cristalline lamellaire, appartenant à une famille plus larges, les semi-conducteurs transparents (TCO). Cette famille de matériaux trouve son plus grand nombre d’applications dans les écrans d’affichage sous forme de films minces à l’instar d’In₂O ₃ dopé à l’étain, mais ce sont également des bons candidats pour des applications en thermoélectricité. A l’heure actuelle, très peu de matériaux thermoélectriques sont résistants à l’oxydation à haute température, la recherche de nouveaux matériaux est donc une nécessité.
