Dans les analyses récentes des relevés de SNe Ia pour caractériser l'énergie noire, les incertitudes statistiques et systématiques sont équivalentes. Or la prochaine génération de télescopes grand-champs comme LSST devrait peupler le diagramme de Hubble des SNe Ia avec plusieurs dizaines de milliers d'événements. Cette augmentation de la statistique suggère qu'un effort particulier doit être apporté à la réduction des systématiques, dont la calibration photométrique primaire (CALSPEC) est le terme dominant.
