L'influence de la convection naturelle lors du changement de phase solide-liquide est traitée dans ce travail de thèse. La configuration géométrique considérée tout au long de cette étude à été choisie de manière à correspondre au creuset du montage expérimental de référence 'Afrodite'. Différents modèles numériques (3D,2D et 2D1/2) ont été proposés pour traiter des cas de convection naturelle, de changement de phase solide-liquide de corps pur et de solidification avec ségrégation d'alliages métalliques. L'incapacité des modèles 2D classiques, qui ne prennent pas en considération la dissipation visqueuse induite par les parois latérales du creuset, à prédire des résultats fiables est mis en évidence.
