La défense de l’organisme contre des pathogènes passe par la détection de motifs moléculaires spécifiques de ces derniers. Dans l’arsenal de récepteurs capables de reconnaître ces motifs figure la famille des Toll-like receptors (TLR) endosomaux, spécifiques d’acides nucléiques. Parmi eux, TLR3 détecte la présence anormale d'ARN double brin dans les endosomes et initie une forte réponse immunitaire innée. Cependant, la régulation de TLR3 reste encore mal comprise.
