The dataset contains raw and calculated data in plots sampled in Nyungwe forest. The research hypothesis was to find out the recent vegetation structure after wildfires occurred in this forest between 1997 and 1998 which created large canopy gaps and clearings which enabled the establishment of light tolerant species such as Pteridium aquilinum and quickly colonized the burnt areas . The dataset consists of spreadsheet in excel containing species and families composition, presence-absence field observations ( 0/1) , number of individuals of each species and its relative frequency.
