Because of their specific properties, composite laminates made of carbon and thermosetting resins are very efficient materials for primary structural parts in aeronautics. However, during their cure, composite parts are subjected to several multi-physical phenomena, which may cause residual stresses and strains that will impact the final geometry of the part. Those variations of geometry are critical for parts of large dimensions and assemblies. Therefore, a simulation tool is needed to predict the cure strains.
