Porast potražnje za plodovima mora doveo je do čestih prijevara krivih navođenja podrijetla vrsta u ribolovnoj industriji što potencijalno financijski ili zdravstveno oštećuje potrošača. Uvođenje primjenjive metode za ispitivanje podrijetla vrste uvjetovalo bi smanjenje prijevara u ribolovnoj industriji. U ovom istraživanju ispitivali smo primjenu testova za određivanje vrsta na 15 uzoraka proizvoda plodova mora koji sadrže lignje (red: Chepalophoda) iz kojih je izdvojeno 82 primjerka korištenih u analizama.
