Diesel engines are widely known for their high thermal efficiency, high torque, reliability, durability, fuel economy, and low carbon dioxide emissions in various industrial applications, such as power generation, mass transportation and off-road applications. However, the combination of a stratified air-fuel mixture and a non-premixed flame gives rise to nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate matter (PM) emissions for diesel combustion.
