Motivating pupils to learn in the classroom has been on the agenda in schools and academic research for decades. This case study takes a look at school where pupils are not fully engaging in their education and implements an intervention with a view to increase the pupil motivation, and more specifically the pupils’ intrinsic motivation. Findings from the intervention show that there is a strong causal link between pupil motivation in the classroom and praise and reward.</p
