Military sexual trauma (MST), Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and institutional betrayal are issues that affect an increasing number of male and female military service members. MST, PTSD, and institutional betrayal share experiential avoidance components leading to a loss of meaning in one’s life and other long-term consequences. However, few studies have examined the interactional effects of these three factors and how they impact functioning of service members and veterans. Given the high comorbidity of these factors, it would be helpful to identify interventions that could target the multiple underlying mechanisms associated with these constructs.
