Nurses working on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic are vulnerable to negative mental health outcomes. For nurses who are also students, the risk is even higher. This cross-sectional study was conducted using an anonymous online survey posted on the Walden Participant Pool, to understand the impact of the pandemic specifically on the mental health measures of depression, anxiety, trauma, and burnout. Preliminary data were analyzed for 136 participants. Results revealed Walden nurses working on the frontlines during the pandemic are significantly more depressed, anxious, and traumatized than the normal population before the pandemic.
