Based on the above statement by Harris, Kropp, and Rosenthal (1986), I feel compelled to qualify my opening sentence to this article. I opened by stating Research, in fact, provides the foundation for all we do in forensics. A more truthful statement is that research should provide the foundation for all we do in forensics.
