Between Beaverhouse and Eden comprises the first third of a coming of age novel set in the boreal forest of southwestern Ontario. It follows five characters as they travel south towards the United States delivering, unbeknownst to some of them, a payload of illegal drugs. Through the experiences of these characters it explores themes such as: the relationship between humans and wilderness, disillusionment with adulthood, misguided self-perception, isolation, and death
