This paper focuses on quantifying and endogenizing the impact of accessibility to personal activities in order to explain vehicle ownership decisions. It is common practice trying to explain vehicle ownership employ socio demographic information as explanatory variables. Compared to this state of the art, our contribution is to deeper explore the explanatory power of mobility-related attributes: we test to which extent the ownership of a mode of transport is influenced by the quality of travel offered by this mode for serving one’s activity pattern.
