Translation and Transfer in European Media

This contribution points at the importance of studying translation and transfer practices in the media, in particular in multilingual media landscapes in Europe. It explains the complexity of such transfers and the extended views on the concept of translation needed for studying it. As language transfers in newsrooms are a combination of writing, translating, rewriting and recontextualizing, it is challenging for translation studies to reconstruct such transfer practices.
