Belgium is well known for its huge diversity of good quality beers. Most of them are brewed under the high fermentation method and are of a relatively high alcohol content. Moreover, Belgium has had a rich history of beer production and consumption. Several historical events, combined with the perseverant taste of the Belgian consumer wanting strong and good ‘regional’ quality beers, and the huge ‘pub’ culture in Belgium, made the diversified brewing heritage survive.
