What are the most important developments, modalities and good practices regarding the role and involvement of the private sector in addressing global development problems? The paper tackles this question by providing a contextualized overview of recent developments in the debate on the role of the private sector in development and introduces an improved typology to dissect and map the roles private sector could play in development cooperation. It also investigates how these roles are already visible in the development policy of different OECD-DAC donors (in particular Sweden, Australia, and the Netherlands).nrpages: 77status: publishe
