Increasingly, Zimbabweans are migrating from their country for both economic and political reasons, with South Africa being the primary destination. In seeking employment in South Africa, Zimbabweans face numerous initial problems, including the high unemployment rate in the country alongside restrictions on their employment in the formal economy. In this context, Zimbabweans often turn to work in the informal economy, including as informal traders.
