Range renovation by strip spraying atrazine, pitting, and a combination of the two treatments was evaluated at the Archer Substation near Cheyenne, Wyoming. Perennial grasses plus sedges produced significantly more on the renovation treatments than on the check. Blue grama was more vigorous, remained green later into the season, and was more available for livestock use on the plots strip sprayed with atrazine than on the pitted or check treatments.
