Successful attempts to incorporate understory herbage and browse measurements into the nationwide Forest Survey are described and evaluated. These attempts were initiated to inventory multiple forest resources-timber, range, wildlife habitat-on a regular basis requiring minimum time and environmental disturbance.This material was digitized as part of a cooperative project between the Society for Range Management and the University of Arizona Libraries.The Journal of Range Management archives are made available by the Society for Range Management and the University of Arizona Libraries.
