The ALTERNATIVE project started on 1st February 2012 is a four year research project on the topic of intercultural conflicts and restorative justice. KU Leuven as a promoter of the project in partnership with EFRJ and five other organisations from Norway, Northern Ireland, Austria, Hungary and Serbia will combine theoretical and action research methods involving intercultural communities within the partner countries. The overall objective of this project is to provide an alternative and deepened understanding based on empirical evidence of how to handle conflicts within intercultural contexts in democratic societies in order to set up security solutions for citizens and communities.
