A study was conducted in Hidalgo County, southern Texas, to determine the effects of inorganic nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) fertilization on the P content of 5 deer browse species. Treatments were 2 rates of N-112 and 224 kg N/ha; 2 rates of P-56 and 112 kg P/ha; 1 fertilizer combination of 224 kg N/ha + 112 kg P/ha; and a nonfertilized control. Plant samples were collected and assayed for P on 5 dates: May, September, and December 1981, and May and October 1982. Neither P or N fertilization influenced P browse content.
