A bicycle trip from Gent to Bxl to Genk is the starting point of this project. Our trajectory leads us through variations of abandoned zones in the landscape. How do we experience ‘wastelands’ and do we actually experience them? The space of the wasteland is both abstract and specific, real and ideal, physical and imaginary. In this rare context, there is no escape from the physical dimension nor is there any escape from the mind possible; our project wants to take place. With the ‘metaphor’ of the wasteland, as the uninteresting and depleted site, we want to point out and search for the significant relationship between what puts meaning to the location and that what darkens the meaning.status: publishe
