This one day workshop covers both academic and professional themes on medical interpreting. Ineke Crezee form New Zealand presented her research in the Seattle hospital on "patient navigators" and their role/function. Other researchers indicated the importance of medical terminology (F. Steurs) for interpreters or talked about communication problems in emergency departments (T. Cox).
