This exhibition presents the outcome of aresearch based design made by Xaveer De Geyter Architects. The research originates in observations made on the current urban conditions of London, Randstad Holland, Belgium, Ruhr, Basel/Zurich/Bern en the Veneto region. These areas showcase a simular urban settlement pattern called sprawl. This means the territory is no longer divided in urban versus rural but the territory displays both settlement patterns simultaniously. The research focused on the specificity of sprawl in the previously mentioned areas and displays options on possible development in an AFTER-SPRAWL condition. The Flemish diamond is the challenging reality in which these designs are demonstrated.status: publishe
