In the mobile wireless sensor network, topology control is a challenging topic. In this paper, a mobile topology control framework is proposed. The network is sampled periodically, the stationary topology control algorithm is implemented repeatedly, and a common redundant transmission range is applied to each node guarantee a certain probability of connectivity. With extensive simulations, this paper investigates the settings of sampling time and redundant transmission range, for the given network deployment, mobility model, and topology control algorithm. The balance between three performance criteria in the mobile topology control algorithm is considered, including probability of connectivity, communication load, and energy efficiency. © ...
