This article contrasts the ethical sayings attributed to Democritus with the ethical writings of Aristotle both in terms of doctrine and vocabulary, with particular reference to the doctrine of pleasure in Democritus and Aristotle's accounts of pleasure in NE X, i-v and EE VI (= NE VII), xi, xiv.
