Analisis Komparatif Studi Pemikiran Ibnu Qayyim Al Jauziyyah dan Muhammad Syafii Antonio Tentang Bunga Bank

The financial system is a means that can support the continuation of human civilization in carrying out the human economy. financial institutions whose main task is to collect funds from the public and distribute these funds to borrowers, then use them to invest in the production or investment sector. Among the several tasks performed by banks, there are several problems that must be studied based on fiqh, one of which is the issue of bank interest. Some scholars argue that bank interest is halal for various reasons. One of them is that light bank interest is considered lawful, while double bank interest is considered haram. The purpose of this paper is to examine the thoughts of Islamic figures Ibn Qayyim Al Jauziyyah and Muhammad Syafii Antonio to find out their views on the law of bank interest. This research is a library research using a qualitative approach. This study selects data sources related to the research topic based on the thoughts of Ibnu Qayyim Al Jauziyyah and Muhammad Syafii Antonio. The result of this research is that Ibn Qayyim forbids all forms of usury, but he tolerates certain conditions, the first is in an emergency and the second is in a state of craving. Meanwhile, Muhammad Syafii Antonio, bank interest is the same as usury, it is haram for any reason usury is still forbidden.
