Penanaman Karakter Disiplin Dan Semangat Kebangsaan Melalui Kegiatan Ekstrakurikuler Paskibra Di SMA Negeri 1 Andong Boyolali Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020

This study aims to describe the cultivation of discipline character and the spirit of nationalism through post-extracurricular activities, constraints, and solutions to overcome them. This research was conducted at Andong 1 Public High School. The research method used is qualitative using observation, interview, and documentation data collection techniques. This study uses two types of triangulation, namely triangulation techniques or methods of data collection and data sources. Data analysis in this study uses an interactive model. The results of this study indicate that the inculcation of disciplinary character through paskibra extracurricular activities is by: getting used to being ready before practice begins; directing to adjust formation; getting used to obeying the guidance of coaches and trainers, as well as providing sanctions for violators; getting used to wearing sports shirts when training; getting used to mastering marching on time; accustom the task to be completed as a team; getting used as an example for other extracurriculars; and getting into compliance with the rules. The results of this study also showed that the cultivation of the character of the spirit of nationalism through paskibra extracurricular activities was by: getting used to follow the flag ceremony; provide knowledge about diversity; assigning to choir team; getting used to being a flag ceremony officer; practice giving the command to use Indonesian language; sing struggle songs during practice; and getting used to working together in carrying out tasks. Constraints faced were: lack of exercise time and some participants were not given permission from parents. The solutions to overcome the obstacles are as follows: use class hours during the day and add practice time on Saturdays and Sundays; and provide understanding to parents of students. This research has the implication that if you want to instill the character of discipline and nationalism in students, especially through extracurricular activities, then it is very appropriate to make habituation.
