Analisis Perlindungan Hukum Terhadap Saksi Dalam Pemeriksaan Perkara Pidana (Studi Kasus : Kesaksian Pemain Sepakbola dalam Pengaturan Skor Liga 2 2018 di Sleman)

Abstract Legal protection for witnesses is considered very important because witnesses are one of the legal evidences in examining criminal cases. The witness also contributed in the process of handling criminal cases. Protection is all efforts to fulfill rights and provide assistance to provide security to Witnesses and / or Victims that must be carried out by LPSK or other institutions in accordance with the provisions of the Law (Article 1 number (8) of Law Number 31 of 2014 concerning Amendments to the Law Number 13 of 2006 concerning Protection of Witnesses and Victims. The research method is carried out by means of an empirical juridical approach that is analyzing the problem by combining secondary and primary legal materials. Sources and types of data are primary data derived from field research namely resource persons located in Sleman and secondary data from literature studies. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the legal protection of witnesses is mentioned as important because often a witness is threatened by another party. The involvement of witnesses in the case examination process can help resolve cases so they do not become Dark Numbers. This requires support from community factors, law enforcement, and legal factors which have to pay more attention to the protection of witnesses so that witnesses get their rights in accordance with those stipulated in the Act.
