Gambaran Self Management Pada Pasien Gagal Jantung

Self management is a decision-making and strategy that is carried out on patients in an effort to improve life health, maintain life, achieve complete health and minimize the decline in quality of life. Self management can improve quality of life and reduce re-hospitalisation in patients with heart failure. Factors that affect self management in heart failure patients consist of age, sex, income, education level, functional status, and concomitant diseases. The purpose of this study is to find out the picture of self management in patients with heart failure. The study was conducted at the cardiac clinic at Sebelas Maret University Hospital. The number of samples in this study were 70 respondents. This research method uses quantitative methods with descriptive survey method. This research instrument uses European Heart Failure Self-care Behavior Scale-9. The results showed the majority of respondents an average age of 58,41 years (5.7%), most of the sexes were male (68.6%), marital status was mostly married (85.6%), length of partial heart failure less than 5 years (84.3%), cardiac functional status was mostly NYHA I (40%), smoking habit was mostly non-smoking (54.3%), comorbidities were mostly hypertension (37.1%). Most heart failure patients have poor self management. The majority of the activities of weighing every day respondents did not do it. Therefore it is expected that health workers to maximize the education of patients related to self-management during home. Keywords: Heart failure, adherence therapy, self managemen
