Tinjauan Yuridis Perkembangan Peraturan Perbankan Syariah Di Indonesia Dalam Upaya Mendukung Visi Pusat Ekonomi Syariah Dunia

Islamic banking is a banking system that carries out business activities based on sharia principles or Islamic law. Indonesia, which is partly Muslim, provides ample room for the development of Islamic banks. In analyzing the development of Islamic banking regulations in Indonesia in an effort to support the vision of the center of the world Islamic economy, this aims to find out how the development of Islamic Banking regulations in Indonesia towards the implementation of Islamic Banking in the community and to find out whether Islamic Banking regulations in Indonesia have supported the vision of the Islamic Economy Center World. This type of research uses the normative method, because this study will be examined are the legal principles related to the development of Islamic banking regulations. This research is descriptive in nature, namely clearly describing the development of sharia banking regulations in Indonesia in an effort to support the vision of the world sharia economic center. Based on the results of research and discussion, it can be concluded that Islamic banking has been recognized implicitly in Act Number 7 of 1992 concerning Banking. Amendment of Law Number 7 of 1992 to Law Number 10 of 1998 concerning Banking constitutes the forerunner to the emergence of two banking systems in Indonesia (dual banking system). Along with the times, the Islamic banking industry is developing faster after the issuance of Law Number 21 Year 2008 concerning Sharia Banking. The rapid development of Islamic banking is supported by the implementation of regulations that aim to regulate the implementation of Islamic banking as a whole. This adequate sharia banking regulation is in contradiction with the implementation of sharia banking in the community which based on the reality to date the behavior of sharia banking in Indonesia does not indicate that sharia banking uses sharia principles strictly. Complete regulation and infrastructure alone is not enough to guarantee the creation of Islamic banks in bringing the real sector closer. In supporting the vision of the world Islamic economic center, compared to other countries including Indonesia lagging behind. This is because the application of sharia principles in the community is still relatively low. Although Indonesia already has very adequate regulations as an effort to develop the world Islamic economy, it cannot make Indonesia exist internationally
