Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) are a significant public health concern in the United States, impacting a large number of women every year and representing the most common complication of pregnancy. Despite efforts at increasing screening and treatment, more than half of women experiencing PMADs go undetected or undiagnosed. Integrated behavioral health care (IBHC), a patient-centered and population-based coordination of mental and physical health care, is a promising avenue for improving the screening and treatment of PMADs.
