Polymyxin B based combinations may improve clinical outcomes by utilizing its rapid killing potential in conjunction with the sustained action of meropenem. The objective of the study is to evaluate the pharmacodynamic activity of polymyxin B in combination with meropenem against Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolates. Antibiotics used in combination should have better pharmacodynamic killing activity against P. aeruginosa clinical isolates and should result in suppressed regrowth patterns as compared to monotherapy.
