The newly invasive Drosophila suzukii Matsumura (Spotted Wing Drosophila, SWD) is an economically significant pest of berries and other small fruit in the Northeast United States. Methods of controlling this insect typically consist of frequent sprays of conventional insecticide, often with long pre-harvest intervals. This experiment is intended to determine the efficacy of a unique Attract and Kill (AtK) design using super-absorbent gelatinous media saturated with highly attractive SWD bait adhered to durable netting, sprayed regularly with a range of insecticides.
