This work proposes the use of a magnetic gearbox to be applied on an energy storage system based on flywheel to allow the use of a conventional electric machine external to the vacuum chamber as the primary machine, maintaining the possibility of using a rotating mass with high speeds. Parametric simulations were performed using finite element software to determine the behaviour of the various variables of the magnetic gear in terms of its performance and design constraints.
